I have two friends with ides of March birthdays—not really o’birthdays—but, close enough to go green on the cards. We’re to the part of winter now where snow, ice, and bare trees just seem to mock us and we’re really starting to look forward to the greening season. Since it is still cold a pieced “quilt” adds warmth to the layout. I sponged all the edges of the quilt pieces with Wasabi or Garden Green to give their edges depth.
The card measures 3.5 inches by 7 inches and the quilt pieces started as 1-inch squares.

I know what you mean about needing some warmth this time of year! This is a lovely card and I will use your great idea to make one for my sister who is also a quilter. Thank you!

Love your description of how the snow, ice, and bare trees are mocking us - I feel it here too! Your card is wonderful - love the patchwork effect - and I love the unique size. I get so stuck on doing the same size cards... Hope spring arrives soon for all of us still stuck in wintry settings where we feel the need for quilts!
