I would definitely scrapbook more if pages could come together as easily as this one did. I will sometimes pull out papers or embellishments that I want to use and keep them near my desk to remember to use them. Those lovely Crate papers with matching buttons had been pulled out of my closet a couple of weeks ago and were lying on the floor and as I looked at Friday's sketch, they caught my eye. How perfect are those chipboard buttons for the sketch!? And how well do the papers match the clothes we're wearing in the picture!?
As for the scalloped mat, the sketch reminded me of a plastic template I use to create clouds in the background, so this is what I used to create my turquoise mat. I cut out some flourishes from a matching paper and added them around the mats, and finished the page off with matching letter stickers. (They're just so cute - they have sparkly polka dots on them!) I handwrote my journaling with a white gel pen and poked holes all around the scalloped mat. And added a bit of sparkly detailing on the flourishes with a sparkly gel pen to match the letters.
This page came about in under an hour. Definitely not the norm for me!
The title of the page is "Birthdays" because my cousin, my sister and I all have our birthdays in September and the family gathered at the restaurant for the occasion. My grandpa used to say that September was a very expensive month for him... ;P

Very pretty!! The colors do really go well with the photos. Great fussy cutting too.
