The block with my name in it is a Hambly ATC that I distressed and stitched around and the buttons are vintage. The roses were all fussy cut from some Sassafras paper and the scallops are off the same paper. The lace is some binding I picked up at a local vintage shop and stitched on a ruffles.
The paper that the journaling is one is Jenni Bowlin and the bg paper is Sassafras. I also used a Prima transparency in the lower left corner.
Journaling reads: I think that's when it started. Dad came home from work when Mom was pregnant with me and said, "If it's a girl her name is Gina. G-I-N-A. Gina." and that was it. I've been his Babyfish ever since. Even now with two little ones of my own. I'm still his baby girl. I've learned so much from him. He and mom have shaped the person I am. Most of it I'm so thankful for, but some of the ways Dad and I are alike I struggle to overcome. We sometimes tend to be too critical of others or just assume we could have done better. We shut other people out and won't talk about our feelings. Sometime we even try to be so self-relient that we convince ourselves we don't need anyone else (even though we know it's not true.) We expect other people to know what we want done...and then there is our seeming inability to ask for help..not sure what's up with that!
But mostly I'm so thankful for the ways I'm like him and the things he's taught me. Things like being a hard worker, being frugal, saving for the things I want and waiting for a bargain. He's taught me that family is more important that money and he's taught me how to be loving and loyal...even without being mushy or overly sentimental! I love you Daddy!

Such a neat collection of elements and techniques. Love the fussy cutting and the lace, the angle of that lovely photo... but most of all, your beautiful journaling. A very special page, Gina.
