When I saw Dawn's card I loved the similarities between our cards. I had to wait until my glue dried so I could get a good picture of mine. I didn't copy her card ... that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. We both thought of yesterday's crimped envelope pocket card when we saw this teapot for the Cindy's teapot challenge seen here:
I debated with myself for a little while because the lines on the teapot are horizontal and the ones on my card are vertical. I am not a perfectionist, well I am, but I let it slide this once. I took my envelope and distressed it with dark brown ink. I crimped it and took a light blue colored pencil to draw between the crimps. I wanted to be able to matte the image so I folded the edges of the evelope over slightly and added two different blues and a brown matte. I went outside to get a branch for my punched cardinal. I added holly leaves to the top of my envelope. The red berries were hot glue drops that I painted red and covered with clear fingernail polish. That is the description of this card.
This teaparty has started kinda slow. It must be the cold weather. I think we need to warm things up. I was thinking HOT FUDGE sundaes. So that is what I am bringing to this week's teaparty. I am bringing all sorts of toppings and several types of icecream. We would love to have you join us for the party. Here is the gallery: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

You are a perfectionist, you always go so far to get all the little details right. I would like to be, but then I tell myself it is good to let go of the little details and see the bigger picture. I never even thought of yesterday's technique, because I was too focused on the lines being horizontal, LOL. Even though I did see a horizontal card yesterday and started working on one today.
I think your holly berries are just perfect, they won't be there for long because if your cardinal is too well-trained to eat them, I am sure someone else's will land on your card and gobble them up.

What a delightful interpretation of Cindy's teapot challenge, MariLynn! I love your birdie, and it was a great idea to use the crimper for the textured effect of the teapot! I think I should try and make a card so I can come to the tea party and have some of your hot fudge sundaes!!!

MariLynn, this is adorable!! I have a thing for cardinals, as they remind me of my grandma. I don't have any stamps though, so I like seeing your punched version!! Very nice!

Fantastic teapot card, MariLynn! The crimped envelope was a perfect idea! And I love the punched cardinal! The cut-out holly leaves finish it! Great match to Cindy's teapot! Those sundaes sound delish!

This turned out super MariLynn. I like yours better. I had a hard time sponging. Yours looks great. The holly sprigs at the top really make it a wonderful teapot card. I am ready for some ice cream. Can you make mine lowfat and sugar free?
