This is my page for Scrap-tastic.com's American Idol Challege. The challenge: Use 10 PP's and NO CS. You also had to pick a song and personify your LO around it.
I chose to do "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. Not only is she wearing a Sleeping Beauty dress, but the picture reminds me of a dream I had before she was born.
I used 10 PP's. 4 are in the handmade lollipop flower (one of those is repeated in the bird image), 1 in the bg, 1 mats the photo, 1 is fussy cut, there are 2 in the title, and the last one is on/behind the journaling tag.
I tried to make this dreamy, yet simple because I wanted to keep the focus on the photo and the story on the journaling tag. I put a cloud in the title to tie in the movie and the pop of blue for the fairies who keep changing Aurora's dress from pink to blue. I also wanted to use a lot of flowers and the bird stamp because it reminds me of the movie and it is also dreamy. The string of pearls I received on a Christmas package and was determined to add it to the LO, so I squeezed them into the brad/flower and strung the glitter flowers on the ends.
The journaling card pulls out from behind the photo. It ties everything together. This is what it says: "Before you were born, when daddy and I were praying for a baby, I had this beautiful dream. In this dream I was holding the hand of a little girl. She had beautiful hair and blue eyes. She had the most beautiful smile I had ever seen. After that, I KNEW our prayers would be answered. God sent you to us. You will always be my dream come true. 'I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream.'"

This looks fabulous, Liz! I *might* have been able to produce a layout with ten different patterned papers, but no way could I do NO cardstock!! And since I haven't done any pages yet in March, you're ahead of me again...for now!
Everything you did is perfect, everything you did is awesome! I love your explanation - you totally achieved the dreamy feeling And your journaling rocks, too!
This should totally get you through to the next round! *fingers crossed*
I am absolutely impressed. I am terribly frightened by PP (don't think I've ever used more than 3 or 4 in a LO) and the fact that you have used so many and still come up with a lovely cohesive LO is very inspiring!
