I had a customer request ideas for a New Year's Eve wedding--the colors were black & red, accented with silver, but they didn't want anything with hearts. I cased this idea from a card I got from a swap, and added my own twist(s) to it. I've uploaded three shots and given the directions for that portion with that photo.
Rub Embossing Buddy over black CS and stamp, using Versamark Pad, with Sparkle BG stamp on front of folded card. Cover with embossing powder and heat emboss. Do the same for the Brushed Silver CS--remember, your fold will actually be on the right for the silver (granted, that's not as important until the next step!). If you wanted to play around a bit, you could try out Iridescent Ice or Hologram Highlights to add a bit more 'sparkle' to the embossing.
Open folded black CS, and with the star stencil, match at least two of the points to the fold, actually going over the fold a bit (you'll need the stability later), and have a third point as close to the top of the CS as possible. Trace pattern using pencil (I found that was the best to use so that it showed up on the black, plus, you could erase your lines after it was cut out), and cut out around outside of star using Paper Snips. I usually used a hole punch to get a 'starter hole' in the area of the star that touched the fold, and then cut out the area between the two points that touch the fold. Repeat this process for the Brushed Silver, but make sure that your fold is on the RIGHT this time, and line up the star along the bottom edge & right side (though in actuality, if you did all of the black & silver the same, you'd just have to flip the silver when it came to assembly time to have it be exactly how you need it).
Mount the Brushed Silver CS to the Basic Black (so that the Black star open on the left, and the Silver one on the right) with 2-sided tape.
