I knew I wanted to make a card where a shamrock turned into a pot of gold. There are several attempts in my trashcan. I learned several things making this card. #1. Prisma colored pencils are great for coloring things in, but when they are on moving pieces they start to smear. #2. Cutting images out and glueing them doesn't work, because when you move the pieces, the edges come up. #3. Stamping or drawing the images works the best. I only have one St. Patrick's Day stamp, and it is a cheap foam stamp. So I decided to draw my shamrock with a green marker. I also drew my pot of gold with a black marker. I used an embossing pen and gold embossing powder for the gold. A brad in the center hold the merging part to the base.
I made my plaid with two different green markers and a gold marker and a ruler.
My photo shows the tabs in position one, halfway and in position two.
This teaparty is extra special because we are celebrating Cindy being a dirty girl. The treat that I brought to share at this party is Fudgy, Fudgy Bonbons. They are chocolate cookie dough wraped around a Hershey's kiss. After you bake them you drizzle white chocolate over them. The recipie was the winner of the Pilsbury Bake off a couple of years ago.

This has me oh my goshing big time! You are so brave trying these new crazy things! How fun that you brought Shamrocks and a pot of gold....yeah, now I am really wealthy! Giggle! Although Sabrina might take it away since we might be tea partying in Ireland....but I am sure your fudgey bons bons will survive the trip, well maybe they won't! They might be gone before we get there!
What a great card you brought to the teaparty...and there you go again being an arteest and drawing a pot of gold! Thanks for the special celebration.....and thanks for the link!
Oh and by the way, pretty darn good photography showing the magic of this piece! You rock!

MariLynn you never cease to impress me with all the new things you
try. This is such a neat technique and then you were able to photograph all three stages! Your dessert sounds yummy. I probably won't try the merge card (I will leave the hard stuff to you) but sure will give the bonbons a go.

I had never heard of this type of card before. Thanks so much for sharing the link and for making such a great example. It's a lovely teapot card and I'm glad that we're having "virtual bonbons" because between those and the German Chocolate cake last week.......

I saw that technique thread too. Should have guessed that you'd give it a go, you're great for trying things out. And it was worth it, even with the ones that hit the trash can. I could have told you about not using glued-on bits on cards with moving parts because of the edges, LOL, but not having Primsas, that was a pitfall I wouldn't know about. And your plaid is pretty amazing too.

OMGosh, MariLynn! This is amazing! What a creative take on Cindy's teapot! You did a great job on this technique and your artwork is great, too! Can't wait to try the Fudgy Bon Bons you brought!
