For the Twisted Sister Challenge this week we were to make a SYMPATHY card, it had to be flat and postable (no knots on ribbons etc) and it is the perfect opportunity to make a card for the Australian Bush Fire survivors to offer support to them and empathise with their situation.
Well I have to say upfront that I cheated in 1 count.....the butterflies...as this card is going to comfort these people who have been through so much destruction I wanted it to have butterflies on it - to symbolise new life...and those wings just didn't want to stay flat...so I am sorry about going beyond the boundaries sistah's but it is for a good cause...I thought about taking them off for the photo, but I had to be honest from the word go!!!
The rest of this card is flat - the flowers may appear layered but are actually recessed in the great window card that misshelenstamps sent me....so they actually sit flat and the gem is also in the recess!!
I have used my flatest lace which is a gift from Hannah (aka bubblefrog) the branches are from a RAK from Suleika (aka Roxystamper) and the uncontrollable butterflies (LOL) are from Lesley (Marleygo) so there s a lotta love from a lot of people in this card - thanks girls for your contributions....it is going to a good cause!!
I hope you like it - I would be interested to hear from you!!! Thanks for looking.
If you are interested in sending some cards to the survivors of the Australia bush fires, to encourage and comfort them, send me a PM and I will send you my address to send them to - I will be sending them through the Red Cross....thanks!

This will certainly lift up a survivor's spirits. Butterflies are not considered a cheating catagory. Like you said, they will lift spirits that so desperately need it. You've a big heart and yes, I'm sending you a PM for the address.

Beautiful card! I live close by to the Kilmore-Kinglake-St Andrews fires, and we all know someone who is either missing or died or lost everything. I know your thoughtfulness in sending cards will touch people's hearts. Thank you so much.

Linda, what a beautiful gesture. Your butterflies speak of hope, and your lace is a reminder too of God's tenderness for His people. You are all in my prayers, knowing that this affects everyone there deeply. I will be making cards for you today. Love you...
