I have quite a collection of Mona Lisa & da Vinci stamps. The card front says "Smiling ever so faintly and politely" and the inside says "You make me smile".
The front is stamped using emboss resist technique, stamping from front to back.
First came the Cherry Pie Mona Lisa Postoid and Puzzle Piece and the Invoke Arts Mona Stamp. Each image was inked using Versamark and then dye-based brown ink, stamped, and embossed with clear detail powder. The images were colored with Prismacolor pencils, then colored over with a VersaMarker and heat embossed with clear detail powder.
Next, the Mona Hands, Mona Lisa name and sentiment (all by Sunday International) and the large Mona Lisa Collage (Cherry Pie) were stamped, embossed and colored. I did not seal with VersaMarker and embossing powder because I wanted the background to show through these designs.
The weathered, cracked paint background stamp (Judikins) was stamped over all with golden ochre Marvy dye ink, and ink was wiped off embossed areas with a tissue. Highlights on Postoids and puzzle piece were added with white gel pen and shadows were added with gray Prismacolor pencil.
Inside, the Mona Sketch (The Uptown Design Company) and fleur-de-lis (Cherry Pie) and sentiment (Stampin Up) were stamped and clear embossed, then golden ochre was sponged over all. Envelope was done in a similar fashion with the Cherry Pie Postoid.
