Is the contact paper used after cutting out an oval (and then applying to the glass)? If not, where does the oval shape come into play? Thanks! LOVE this technique AND your vase! TOO CUTE! Will definitely try this myself and see about incorperating it into a stamp camp for the holidays! Too bad Mother's Day is over... Thanks for sharing!

Cut an oval (I used the CM cutting system) out of contact paper (the thin plastic film that you can use to psuedo-laminate stuff - Michaels has a roll of it for about $1.50) and then place it so the cut out oval part is in the center - so the sides are covered with the film and the oval center is glass...then I stamped using versamark, embossed with clear EP and when the glass was cool (this took the longest part of the whole thing) I spackled on a nice heavy layer of etching creme - waited about 5 minutes and washed the creme off and used my fingernail to remove the clear EP and VIOLA....
