You know that I never had the opportunity to do the challenge yesterday for the alcohol inks. But I got as far as the drying part with it. Maybe an idea will come later since my boys will be in school tomorrow. They have been off for 3 days due to our wicked ice storm, but I did teach them how to sew and they each made a quilt bed for the cat. I have 3 sewing machines, so we managed to get them done. My son Cody who is 8 made a small quilt using 100 squares for the 100th day of school for his class project. Dallas who is 11 made a puffy bed quilt for the cat. Overall we all had fun with them home for the 3 days. It was just too busy for me yesterday with everything else going on too. Such as housework, yuck!
Here is my story:
We were to use a simple and clean card for todays Limited Supplies Challenge. I think its simple but others might not think so. Anyways, I already had started on the background for this card a few days ago and set it aside. I forget the name of this technique, so if anyone knows please tell me. Anyhow, I've been wanting to do this technique for awhile but couldn't find the right stamp. I bought the stamped image from HL made by Penny Black.
I started out by measuring the whisper white c/s against the card base. I cut out pieces and laid them down. I took my distress ink and sponged around the edges on all pieces of c/s. Glued in place. I split the image by stamping only half at a time. (the 2 flowers are really on the left side of the stamp being connected) on the stamp itself. I used my copic and su markers for the flowers. I also used 2-way glue and clear emboss powder for the flowers. I stamped the sentiment using a colored marker, used the corner rounder on the one edge, sponged, and added brads. The sentiment is held on by pop dots. I also added a small piece of ribbon with a brad to the top corner of the card. I really enjoyed making this card. I needed something simple since I was so busy yesterday. Thanks for having this challenge that I can focus on, the kids are sleeping now. Have a wonderful night. What do you think?
