Good morning! It looks like I am not the only one that stays up all night making cards. My husband came upstairs and stands there with his hands on his hips at 3am and says, "Did you stay up all night?". Yes, I told him because I wanted to be up so you wouldn't forget your lunch. He laughs. I had taken a nap yesterday after taking my son to the doctor and couldn't get to sleep last night. He will have to take some meds to cleanse his system out for his bowels that are clogging his system. Thanks ladies for your concerns on how he is doing. Anyhow, I decided to make another card using the color challenge for CC201 because I really didn't plan on the other one I made for my mom. I already made that one a few days ago. So this card will be the actual one and for the sketch challenge today. This is for a friend of mine who just lost her dad recently. I started with kraft c/s and pierced holes along the edges. I added a piece of dp, sponged with distress ink along the edges, and used the cb textile folder. For the 2 panels, I used the cb swiss dots folder, mounted the dp and kraft onto the not quite navy c/s. Pierced the edges. I got the big butterfly stamp today while at the doctors with my son. We had gone to the base thrift store while waiting on his prescription. This was with a bundle that I got for $5...there was 10 stamps in there, good ones too. I got a SU set for $1 in good condition too. (We don't live on the base and they asked me if I would like to reschedule if I thought the wait was too long) No, I said, because we live 45 minutes away and I wasn't going to pull my son out of school another day). Anyways, along with the story. I stamped the butterfly onto the Night of Navy c/s with versamark ink, heat embossed it using the cobalt embossing powder. Bleached it out. Colored with a Copic marker. Cut out. I then mounted it the cb textile folder onto vanilla c/s. I felt like it needed something else, so I thought of Markie's Mom idea. Here is her gallery http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...p;ppuser=79662 I added some dots with my galaxy cream pen along all edges of the card and layers. I did the same technique with the small butterflies, so far as the bleaching goes. Cut out! They are on there with a pop dot. I stamped the sentiment onto kraft and used the scallop circle punch. Held on with tacky tape. I added ribbon, pearls, and rhinestones to complete the card. I really enjoyed making this card, but feel really bad about my friend. Thanks Roxy for the sketch. TFL! Have a wonderful day!
Time to get my kids up for school, it's 6:30am
