This is for the New Technique Challenge for today. We were to make a Origami box. I decided that I was going to do a box with love notes inside for my dh. Well, after wasting a few practice sheets of paper, and not understanding the directions on the tutorial, I decided to cheat just a tab. I was like Nancy Ruth. I had all kinds of folds going every which way. Finally I decided to look for a video online found here.http://video.aol.com/video-detail/ho...box/2955480830. You know after following this video, I made the box in less than 5 minutes. Go figure. The other problem I had was locating some chipboard. I finally used a back of the desk calender that my husband had. I couldn't figure out the score lines from the directions either, so I just measured and scored at 5 inches from the right and turned it the other way and scored another 5 inches. Worked for me! I covered the chipboard using dp. I sponged with mustard and tea dye ink to get it a antique look and also the edges. I used sticky tape to hold my box onto the top and bottom covers. For the front panel, I took a piece of burgundy c/s and used the cb textile folder. I used the decorative heart corner punch on the 2 corners. I took a white doily and sponged it with the same ink as the dp. I colored the big prima flower using a marker because I didn't have this color. I sponged the white flower as well. I added a vintage button for the center of the flowers with hot glue. I made a heart tag and secured it on the box using a piece of jute. Once I figured out the box, it was really fun to do. All kinds of ideas ran through my head. I believe in my heart that I am visual, verbal type of person when it comes to these kinds of challenges. It took me longer to do this today, due to a sick son that I had to go get from school and then to the doctors. Thank you Lynn for the challenges and have a great night! I really do appreciate your comments and thank you for looking.

Absolutely gorgeous! I had the hardest time with my box too, I just can't follow instructions well. Your box was worth the effort, it came out great. Hope your son is feeling better. TFS!
