This is going to be my husband's Valentine. It doesn't look very masculine, but I had so much fun making it that he's going to get it anyway.
The heart is from "Love Is a Circle," a retired SU! set. My friend Nancy found it for me on ebay, and I've used it a lot. Thank you!
I don't know what the technique is--I was just messing around with my new alcohol inks. Here's what I did: (1) brushed Alcohol Blending Solution on the inner heart with a paintbrush; (2) squirted tiny bits of alcohol ink directly on the heart; (3) using my ColorBox Merlot pigment ink, went around the outer heart and words and clear embossed that portion; and (4) spread a thick layer of Crystal Effects over the inner heart to give it dimension and shine. I sponged Cool Caribbean ink around both images and used the tracing wheel and ruler to faux stitch.
The Dew Drops at bottom left and top right have a 1/4" circle of white paper behind them. I just love the new BasicGrey Urban Prairie series! Both of the designer papers are from that stack.
Thanks for looking!
