This is a confirmation card for my Sister-In-Law. The stained glass image is one I found on the internet. I used a tip I learned on a doll house website for making stained glass windows: print the image on regular copy paper and then coat the back with cooking oil to make it more transparent. The front of the image is first covered with the laminating sheet to make it look more like glass. I just wiped off the excess cooking oil and it dried very nicely - no oily residue. The arched window opening and cross are coluzzle templates. I coated the cross with Versamark and embossed with pewter EP (twice), then attached it to the back of the arched opening. The window is also cut out of the Taken With Teal cardfront so the light shines through the stained glass. I'm also posting the inside of the card and the envelope.

OK...Linda, this is just stunning! I reread your instructions several times thinking, "wow, that's alot of work", but once it finally soaked in I realized how do-able this is. I'm always impressed by your willingness to try new techniques and amazed by how well you execute them!

WOW -- what a fantastic piece of art -- I have never heard of intentionally putting cooking oil on paper, but it makes sense --- you did a fabulous job with this card, it is stunning! thanks for sharing
