I made this gift basket for my boss for Christmas. I didn't have time to take a picture of it with my camera before giving it away so I snapped a quick shot with my phone camera...sorry it's not a better picture. It has two sets of homemade flavored hot cocoa mixes in decorated mason jars. There is a bag of marshmallows, a decorated snowflake vanilla candle and a nugget box filled with two peppermint patti snowmen.
Homemade Hot cocoa Mix Recipe:
1-1/2 cups powdered skim milk
1-1/2 cups white sugar
3/4 cup unsweet cocoa
3/4 cup non-dairy creamer
Place all ingredients in a bowl, stir together and put into mason jars.
Variations to the recipe:
*For Mocha Hot Chocolate, place 2 or 3 tablespoons of hot chocolate mix in a mug and fill with hot coffee.
*Replace the plain non-dairy creamer with a flavored creamer such as French Vanilla or Hazelnut.
*For spiced hot chocolate, add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to mix, or ½ teaspoon nutmeg and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon.
*For raspberry hot chocolate, add one package of raspberry koolaid to the mix and increase the sugar to 2 cups.
To make cocoa: Place 2-3 Tablespoons in a mug and add hot water. Stir, sip and enjoy! Top with marshmallowes if you desire!!
