I stamped the butterfly image onto 80lb. Pure Luxury White cardstock and then colored it with Copic markers. The image above didnÂ’t capture the vibrant orange that I added to highlight the wings, but you can see it better IRL.
The backing for the frame was make by wrapping some white fabric around a thin piece of cardboard and I mounted the butterfly to that with mounting tape. I poked a hole in the butterfly with my paper piercer and then added a pin that I had salvaged from a dress shirt that I bought. They are the perfect size for crafting and have a little painted head on them.
The black frame originally had a gold border on the inside, but I sanded that off and then covered it with black pigment ink.
The sentiment was stamped onto the fabric with Dark Chocolate ink and then I slipped everything into the frame. I had forgot that I cut off the antennae when I cut out the butterfly, so I added a bit of wire as a replacement. I think that it turned out nice.
