 | | Yesterday I treated my children to a little "advent calendar fun." Their advent calendar had a little ticket in it for a trip to our local (historical) candy confectionery, Schimpff's. We decided to do a ton of our Christmas gift shopping right there and then.
For the first time, I noticed these adorably lavender colored yummies... "Sugar Plums." Hmmm... what a perfect and unique Christmas gift, so I thought. BUT... I've never tasted a "sugar plum." What if they are super wierd? That would be a bumber of a gift, right? So the sweet workers at Schimppf's said, "Try it! I know you will like it." DD and I LOVED (I mean LOVED) it! The gal at the counter said they keep them year round because of their demand.
They are more like a gumdrop than a plum. So I thought I'd get online to check out what a REAL sugar plum looked like. No luck. Lots of goodies inspired by sugar plums.... and TONS of fairies, he. What I DID come away with from my search are these lovely colors of grays, lavenders, and pinks (which I did not include.) Thus, my card for the sketch challenge today. I think I might have to mention these colors to Emily. What do you think? |
