This is an advent box made from large kitchen match boxes. I got the original idea from Ella's blog here: http://ellascraftroom.blogspot.com/ A wonderful lady in my ATC club showed us all how to make a one-layer box. I covered sets of three matchboxes (which I got 3 to a pack at the dollar store) with cardstock, and arranged them side-to-end for one layer, then repeated the process for another layer. Cardstock-covered cardboard forms the top and bottom. Then you just let loose with your creativity... I used buttons, brads, ribbon, jingle bells, and pipecleaners for handles on the boxes. It is filled with tiny toys and candy, but you could also use little notes with special privileges written on them (e.g., "pick dessert tonight" or "let's go look at holiday lights"), or little ornaments, or even craft supplies to make an ornament a day. I used tons of different supplies - if you have a question on something specific, I will *try* to answer as best I can ;-) TFL.
