Julia, this is a great idea for a challenge. My apologies for not having flags for all the nations represented here on SCS - I am not intentionally ignoring all of you.
I know I have uploaded a lot of cards for the troops, but I have a couple who need a "hug" right now so I wanted to make a card to send out.
I really like this flag DP from Paper Studio for this purpose, but I have trouble using it as a bg. I think it worked in this modification of yesterday's sketch (#204). The image was received through WIshRAK.
I am not sure how well it shows up, but I sponged More Mustard chalk om the sentiment and the edges of the image, to try to match the stripes.
The verse inside says: The world's a better place
Because of people like you

Fabulous card! Being the mom of an Iraq war vet, (who may be going back over in the spring),I so appreciate thoughts and prayers for our troops. We just found out tonight that my nephew will be going over in a few months. God Bless our troops!

Love the sentiment you put inside, and the way you used the chalk to blend the images with the patterned paper. Thanks for sharing your creative craftsmanship!
