I know Peggy's been expecting Maxie to visit for some time, and she's actually been here for awhile, but her trip has been interesting, to say the least!
First of all, my DS decided he wanted Maxie for himself, and he hid her away, under the printer of all places!
She's had some fun in the last few days. Being a world traveller (and such a sophisticated lady), I wasn't really sure how to entertain her. But, she's been so busy travelling, she was ready for some good old fashioned fun. At first, she wasn't so sure that she wanted to wear all of that flannel ~ flannell jackets, flannel pj's, but when she finally tried them on, I couldn't get her out of them! I have to say, plaid never looked so good! She kept my pj's, but let me wear her sparkly copper makeup in return.
I don't know what she'll tell Peggy, when she finally gets home, but it looked to me like she had a great time.

Well, I guess the New-Foundland air is working miracles with Maxie. She's been all around and this is the first time I heard about her "soft heart". Guess our little man Clay helped that heart soften. Good for you Darla, I'm proud that she could nurse you both back to health. As for getting the boat out of the water, chopping the wood!!! Really out of character of Miss Maxie, but I'm not complaining, it's just so strange, stranger things have happened, just think of Prince Charles and Camilla? (lol).
So now she's all layed back in plaid jammee's, are you guys going to have a pyjama party. I wish I could be there. She didn't say anything about the Opera, Starbucks or that Yuppie Halloween party.
I can see Maxie hasn't forgotten about her make-up, she just loves it. Hum...who's make-up did she take with her, heard she had stolen some from someone...
Fine work Darla, you made her look just as gorgeous as ever. Thanks for joining in the fun and making Maxie your own! I just love the trees and beautiful charm button and thread, love the way you coppered the butterfly and I suppose she must just love it.
I must say that Maxie has so much flair that plaid flannel is perfect on her - looks as good as her opera clothes! Only Maxie could wear flannel, her exotic coppery makeup and a jeweled butterfly and make it look so sophisticated! You created a beautiful card - perfect homage to the splendiferous Maxie!

Darla, if this card wasnt so darn wonderful, I would have to be the first one to tell you that there's no way she's been in your neck of the woods, so to speak. that's not possible. first it was Linda who claimed she was at the opera, and now it's you telling us she's been pulling out your boat, and gotten into PJ's. Darla, sweet Darla, if all this is in fact true, I must tell you, sweet girl, that this is not the Maxie I know. The Maxie I know would have hers or my people do those mundane tasks for her. I dont think I even know anyone who dare to even ask her to assist with such matters. Sweet girl, we all know this isnt the real maxie, now dont we? Its okay. I'll act as if I know nothing lest I ruin your reputation.

Maxie is looking rather comfy in her flannel. Great job Darla!'
Her flannel looks very familiar to me...hmmm!
Maxie just arrived today at my house looking for a latte! She is here in Guilderland NY and I promised I would take her shopping this week for something new to wear. Will keep you all posted!

I must say Maxie looks fabulous in plaid! That collar really looks good with her slender neck. Who else could pull off that striking copper make up with plaid? Maxie is a true Renaissance woman! Ill bet she had a wonderful time there and you all had hot drinks by the fire! Its good to know she nursed you back to health. She has many, many skills that Maxie... kinda like a spy... on vacation.

Oh my but Maxie looks fabulous in plaid! Somehow, that sophisticated lady can pull off plaid - and still look fabulous! I must say that her copper- y makeup and butterfly clip are just fabulous!
Maxie must be enjoying your fabulous Newfoundland accent! I know that you get Hollywood Stars in Newfoundland - why, I remember that wonderful movie with Kevin Kline in it - among others - the Shipping something................ a very artsy film - and I know that it was filmed in beautiful Newfoundland. Therefore, I have little doubt that Maxie had a most sophisticated time! I did find, perhaps like you - that she does enjoy the great outdoors!

Darla I have to tell you (on the quiet) I do believe, inspite of Annes comments, that you have had time with the now notorious Maxi....I too had the suggstion that I was dreaming...but I knew that it wasn't true...there are some experiences in life that are too perfect to be a dream, time with Maxi is one of them....
...and you have captured her visit to perfection, loving the plaid and the trees...fantastic....but am glad to see that you have given Maxi her dignity with the eyeshadow and lipstick - must for every girl for every occassion!! Well done Darla and thanks for sharing...

She looks wonderful. I love the plaid and that make up is too wonderful. I really must invite her here to NC to do a make over for me. I am in desperate need. Then she can help me pull out our boat. It is cold here. Lovely job. TFS Maxie's adventures with us.
