The gorgeous inspiration challenge today was The Felted Garden, and I chose the overall image for the earth colours - http://www.feltedgarden.com/index.ph...ndex&cPath=2_9. It's also my card for Beate's weekend sketch #66, - http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststamper...-challenge-66/
It may not be obvious to anyone else, but that image immediately reminded me of this fabric I bought for lining a coat (OK, so it's not felted, but the inspiration is :D). First off I spread the coat out and took a photo which I was going to convert and print as backing paper. But it then occurred to me to check my scrap drawer, and although I threw out a lot when we moved, I still had some of this. So I backed it with interfacing and mounted it onto a piece of card just a bit smaller than an A2 card. I stamped A Flower for All Seasons onto some card and coloured it with H2Os. That's mounted onto two squares of Core'dinations card. The upper layer is stamped with Pretty Petals in Versamark and chalked with a tan chalk for a faint background effect, and both squares were sponged with dark brown. I added some Magic Mesh and 3 Dew Drops. At the sided I added two punched and sponged circles and some lovely beads I was sent. I did cover two buttons in the same fabric as the card base, but you can't cut the shanks of covered buttons, and they were going to stick up too much, so I ditched them.
Funny how things come together - yesterday I met the girlfriend of one of the guys in work, to help her out with a knitting problem. She had the most gorgeous felted bag she had made - and then Stef shows us those beautiful pieces this morning.
