This is for the November Cards for a Cause Challenge, to be donated to Operation: Quiet Comfort, an organization that supports wounded soldiers.
I don't own any really patriotic stamps, but I felt the starry designer paper and the stripes evoked a sense of Americana. The layout for this card is one I've used many times before. It's Sketch Challenge #21. I love it because it's so versatile. By changing the designer papers and the sentiment, it can used for any occasion.
Thanks for looking!

Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.

This card also gives me the feeling of Christmas, it could be given to a Soldier at Christmas so that they know how much they're appreciated. Great layout and layers.

I just committed to making 20 cards for a unit returning from Iraq. I was looking through the gallery for ideas and just love your card. Know that your design will carry on to 20 more troops. Thanks for the inspiration!
