This is a card I made for one of my club members who could not come to club yesterday because her beloved dog passed away Saturday night unexpectedly. She doesn't have any children, so I know to her her doggie was her child and she is having a difficult time I am sure. I made it in time for all the other club members to sign and send to her. I also found a sweet poem on Petloss.com and typed it up and mounted it to match the card so maybe she can sit the poem next to a photo of her dog. The bassett hound stamp is the only dog stamp I own and didn't even realize it until of course I needed it. I hope you can read the sentiments....I took the ones on the card from some other cards I saw here on SCS - the outside says "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened" The inside of the card reads "Our animal friends teach us more than we expect, and love us more than we have hoped. So Sorry for your loss". I think you can probably make out the poem. I will have to make a point to get some more of those...any suggestions on some good ones to get?

What a thoughtful friend you are!!! This is a lovely card - love the image, you have done a great job and the verse is a lovely touch as well. We are pet lovers and I dread the day....anyway enough about that...we have very dear friends whose children have grown up and their dogs are their 'darlings' they have lost all 3 of them over the past couple of years and I know how touched they were when we sent a card and the photos we had of their 'babies.'' It is a lovely thing you have done! Thanks so much for sharing!

This card is really touching. Today I took my dog (my baby) into the vet. He has been really sick the last couple of days. The vet said he has to stay over night until they figure out what is wrong with him, so I am trying to busy myself by looking at cards. Thank you, your card has put a smile on my face because the puppy is so cute. I know your friend will really appreciate this card. All animals are so special and it is very difficult to lose a dear friend.
I have a basset hound and two other dogs of other breeds so the picture of the basset drew me in to look. What a lovely card. Another idea for a poem is the Rainbow Bridge. I know that poem has served me well when I have lost previous pets.
