You're in for a big surprise - the bears are ready to help you celebrate your birthday.
Not quite teddy bears, but the song was in my mind when I was making this, so I'm counting it for the Fan Club central theme .
I had a text on Thursday from one of my best friends thanking me for the card DH had given her after staying over, and asking me could I make a card for her son-in-law's birthday at the end of the month, to go with his National Geographic gift sub. Tall order - Joan is miles more artistic than I ever will be. One of her sons is a cartoonist for 2 of the broadsheet papers here, and it's not hard to see where he got his talent from!
Anway, this is what I made for her. When I made my first card like this, I noticed kaloso05 ic143, lsc183 a little something blue by kaloso05 at Splitcoaststampers had made hers into a sort of tryptich, and it made sense to me because it helps it stay open properly, so I wanted to try that next time I made one.
The base is green Bazzill stamped with Weathered in Versamark and dusted with chalk. I stamped a whole pile of trees with two colours of Brilliance and cut them all out, along with a bear, two signs (one with the words left blank) and some birthday cakes from Just Celebrate. I used a strip of torn Bazzill for the sky, and after I stuck it to the green tag I stamped some trees with Versamark and chalked them. Maybe not the best idea, but I left it. After that it was just a case of sticking everything down (coloured the cakes with H2Os), adding a punched sun and a Nestabilites Labels 1 Happy Birthday sentiment.
As you can see, the bears painted out one of the signs and wrote their own .

Wow. What a labour of love - this must have taken you ages. And so worth it - what a terrific card. The detail is wonderful and you've done a great job of a card that goes well with a National Geographic sub.
