Thanks Stef for the Boden clothes challenge, IC153...it was right there in the middle of that catalog that I overturned my last lawn chair WEST of the MI crooked letter crooked letter I humpback humpback I. And what do you suppose I found? The earliest known picture of kissin' cousins AnneRyan, Debzi333,and Terri aka BRATcards. Back when they waz refined Southern girls...yep...real ladies-in-waiting...wearing DRESSES, even! If you look closely, you can see Anne's right thar in the thick of things...did you know she is really Minime's MOTHER? Whoa baby...how did we get in a Mike Myers movie? Anyhoo, back to this sob story...as I have come to understand it, the girls fought all day long over who was gonna wear the red polka dot (MOTHERMARK) dress...Debzi333 just knew since it fit her like a glove, she had rights to it, and that Brattie girl couldn't be happy with a green polka dot dress, I mean nooooooooo it wasn't good enough. Yes, it was that day, those sistas parted ways...Anne escaped to the right coast and Deborah and Terri took the scenic route...I really think Maxi should get back over here from down under and help me with our very own SCS~~~ WHAT not to wear!~~~...just let me sic Nick onto Anne's do,
I'll be back to give details

You are quite right on that story indeed Susan.. red has always been my very favourite colour, and the fact that I would insist - as is obvious - that I would look best in the red polka dotted dress is quite right. I don't know what is up with that Brat and her fighting over me wearing the red dress...humph...
And then well, what's this about me and Anne and Terri's being kissinin cousins?? Cause I don't hail from the depth's of the south, and I know nothin about such oddities as kissin cousins * shudder * a term which I am certain Ms Ryan is quite familiar with * sigh *. I guess it's stripes right now for MS Ryan as she spend time in jail... And why, I did not know that Anne was the mother of Mini Me, but why am I not surprised!
I'm glad you are turning over lawn chairs for me , Susan, in the pursuit of justice!!
One day I am certain that these many untoward episodes and Anne's jail time will make sense.... I'm trying, as I know you are...

What a hoot! I love the paper piecing and the story behind the dresses. You didn't tell the story about the bows in their hair, and I'm sure there must be a story there!
Is everything on top of the green mat one stamp? Or did you layer other patterns and distress?, because it looks awesome.

Well Susan I see you are making you presence known and what a way to do it! It seems as though the 'plot thickens'!! In amongst it all, I must say that your card is great - I haven't been over to the challenge yet, but this is enough to make me head there....although with this visual in my head, I hope I don't dream about these gals! Apparently, the last dream I had was rather intriguing...I am still not 100 percent convinced that it was a dream...we will see...there could be more tales to come from down under...in the meantime...
thanks for sharing your card and at the same time enlightening us with this piece of invaluable history - you go girl!!

Jail??? When did Anne go to jail? I musta missed out on a whole lot of the story - last I heard Maxi was singing opera somewhere. This is a perfect image of the lovely ladies, now I know what they all really look like. I need to get out more, keep missing out on the story.
