I made this for today's LS challenge, Stamps in Disguise.
My first thought was Pick A Petal, there's so much you can do with that. Before I've done an orchard and a bird SC183 Pick a Petal, Pick a Bird by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers and Pick a petal, pick a tree by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers, but I wanted to come up with a fresh idea. And if possible a bit more inventive than a paisley fan. I read the challenge this morning over breakfast in bed, so I had a quick look through my stamps before going to work, and I reckoned that Boatloads of Love would make a good Topiary tree. I was going to cheat and use a real pot stamp, but when I got home from work and looked again, I realised the funnel of the boat would do.
So, I stamped the heart, cloud and funnel onto white paper. The pot is coloured with H2Os. I used the sand from Shore Thing to add texture to the foliage with Versamark and chalk pastels.
The base layer is Basic Grey, and then a layer of sage green textured with the Whimsy Fiskars Texture Plate. I drew a line for the tree trunk and assembled the tree on the card. I added some little tulip stickers and a blue bird from Wild About You.
The sentiment is Hero Arts - since I just posted off my last Get Well card, it was a good opportunity to replace it. I used a corner rounder punch on the white layer, sponged the edges and then added a layer of Basic Grey punched with the ticket corner punch.
