This is fpr Schirmcat's challenge to use one of Nicole Kidman's costumes from Moulin Rouge as inspiration. I chose the first one pictured, Black Diamonds found here: http://www.costumersguide.com/cr_mr.shtml
I embossed Victorian Lace background stamp on Basic Black in silver e.p. For the soot stamping I pressed the haunted house down into the freshly burned glossy cardstock to lift off some of the soot and then I stamped the same image over top this, a little off to the side in Basic Gray ink. Sprayed to seal. Mounted this up on dimensionals.
My friend Julie got me thinking along these soot stamping lines with this really cool card found here: Soot Embossing Train of Happiness by Julestampsx3 at Splitcoaststampers

This is wonderful! I just printed out the list for these challenges and I really want to do some of them. Your bg looks just like her costume. Great job!

Joanne, it's beautiful. I just love that background embossed and what a fun idea to stamp the house after pulling it off to give it a shadowed effect. You are good, girl!

Gorgeous card and great job on this technique. I've looked at it and it sounded hard and kind of scary but you've inspired me to try! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your bg and the 3 strands holding your sentiment are perfect.
