Song sung blue
Everybody knows one
Song sung blue
Every garden grows one
Me and you are subject to the blues now and then
But when you take the blues and make a song
You sing them out again
Sing them out again
Song sung blue
Weeping like a willow
Song sung blue
Sleeping on my pillow
Funny thing, but you can sing it with a cry in your voice
And before you know, start to feeling good
You simply got no choice
Song sung blue...
The technique I used is called faux bleach, which is like embossing resist, but goes a step beyond, where you cover the embossing and iron over it to remove the melted powder. I stamped my images on an old piece of sheet music and sponged over the embossing. (It's not so yellow IRL - really matched the kraft card stock before I sponged it.) The kraft layer was embossed in my cuttlebug with diamond in the rough embossing folder to represent the artist, Neil Diamond.
The bottom layer of the stacked flower is made by punching two five petal flowers and cutting them apart, then gluing them to a circle for a wider petal span. I crocheted the flower. The bird and scalloped circle are punched from the same sheet music.

Gorgeous! What a great take on this challenge. Beautiful colors to match a beautiful song. I love the torn edges.
TFS! I may have to try this technique. the results appear to be worth the work!

Wow! This is fabulous!!! Love the gold bird over the sheet music, and the bright blue with it! Love that lacy flower too... just a gorgeous card and based on a great song too!
