I made this for my church ladies! Each letter (monogram) is on a different card which are all strung together on ribbons to spell Merry Christmas. Each card opens to reveal a family activity to do the two weeks buidling up until Christmas Day and starts with the letter on that card.
M - is for make. Make a special Christmas card for your teacher.
E - is for elf. Elf your neighbors by hanging candy canes from their trees and bushes using ribbon. Shhh, don't let them catch you!
R - is for recipe. Here is a recipe for a cheese ball. Make a few, put them in the center of plates and circle them with crackers. It's a great treat to take to neighbors who have had too many sweets.
R - is for reindeer. Make reindeer food to sprinkle outside on Christmas Eve to show Santa and his reindeer the way to your home.
Y - Yule. Yule is a winter festival in many countries in various forms. Yule celebrations often coincide with Christmas. Modern Yule traditions include decorating a fir or spruce tree, burning a yule log, hanging mistletoe and holly branches, giving gifts, and general celebration and merriment. Put up some Christmas decorations today.
C - is for cookies. Make Christmas cookies and take some to someone that could use a lift. Be sure to leave them lots of smiles and maybe a hug too!
H - is for hunger. Take food to a food bank or join a food drive at a store near you. When you get home, have hot chocolate and cookies.
R - is for read. Read a great Christmas story.
I - is for icicles. We don't have them in Phoenix, but we do have ice cream. Have an ice cream treat.
S - is for service. Think of something you can do for someone else today, then do it!
T - (this one is a local one only) you will have to think of something for your area.
M - is for movie. There are lots of great Christmas movies. Watch one with your family. Be sure to have popcorn too.
A - is for ahhhhhh! Drive around and look at the Christmas lights. Be sure to oooh and AHHHHHHH!
S - is for Scriptures. Read the scripture story of Christ's birth in Luke. Dress up and act out the parts.
The letters were cut with my cuttlebug alphabet and attached to the cards before running it through the cuttlebug for texture. The inside information is computer generated and glued inside. I used the slit punch for the closure.
