I made this card for the Two Peas In A Bucket Challenge to make a card for a person who normally wouldn't get one (like a mailman or librarian) and let them know how much you appreciate them.
This card is for our stone mason. A couple of years ago, he built us a fireplace, chimney and put stonework on the front of our house. We wanted to continue doing work, but we couldn't afford it and he was very busy. Now, 2 years later, with construction down so much, he had to lay off all his employees and he is struggling to find work. And the one big job he had, he hasn't been able to get any money out of the guy. Because he needed the work, we were able to negotiate a reasonable price for him to finish the work we wanted done. And in exchange, we paid him in full so he could make his mortgage payment. It was really nice of him to do the job for almost half his original quoted price 2 years ago. And since things are so hard for him right now, and he is a really nice guy, I decided that he could use a card to let him know we appreciate him.
To alter Fixafella to be a stone mason, I cut him out to exclude the tool box then adhered him to another background. Then I drew in some stones. No embellishments here. Decided to keep this pretty simple.
