This is a fun card for a friend who wants to be a dairy farmer!
Lots of techniques used:
1) Card: the sentiment was created using Photoshop CS3, and printed on Whisper White. I then trimmed the card to 8 x 9, and scored it to be a 4 x 9 card - it fits in a standard business envelope!
2) Masking: The cows (Rubber Stampede) were stamped with Basic Black ink, and I used masks cut from Post-It notes to group them. The udders are colored with Prisma Color and Gamsol. I left the masks on, and stamped the grass (All Night Media & Posh Impressions) in Garden Green.
3) Stippling: While the masks were still on the cows, I stippled the sky with Tempting Turquoise.
4) Paper Piecing: (SU! stamps) The barn was stamped on Cranberry Crisp, trimmed, and black areas filled in with Basic Black marker; the silo was stamped on Basic Gray and filled in with Basic Black marker.
5) Layers: The farmer (SU!) and one cow (Rubber Stampede) were stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink, and then colored with Prisma Color and Gamsol. I mounted them to the card using foam tape.
This took some time, but I think he'll like the result.
TFL!
