This is another card I made for Inspiration Challenge IC146. For todayÂ’s challenge we were referred to Mondo Dishes by Rosanna, Inc., a line of dishware and accessories designed by Rosanna Bowles. What a wonderful choice for inspiration! I think Ms. Bowles must be a stamper in her spare time; every single one of her designs made me think of stamps that are either in my cabinet or on my wish list.
This card was inspired by “La Soiree Parisienne”, a collection of china that is decorated with platinum and pearlized pink, the Eiffel tower, and my all time favorite image, beautiful gowns!
Lacking a stamp of La Tour Eiffel, I scouted around the web for some free clip art and found just the image I was looking for here: http://www.fundraw.com/clipart/clip-.../Eiffel-Tower/ I downloaded the image and edited it to get it to the size and color I wanted, a light pearl gray. Then I printed it onto white cardstock and cut it out.
I printed the gown and shoe from Inkadinkadoo’s “Friendship” collection in platinum, clear embossed them, and then used pink watercolor pencil to add some color. I also added some pink rhinestones for a little bit of glitz. Although this dress has its own hanger, I cut it away since the inspiration gown was not on a hanger.
I was unable to find a piece of pink pearl paper that I knew I had and wanted to use for the background, so I stamped white cardstock randomly with flourishes using a mixture of white chiffon and rosebud inks and embossed with pearl embossing powder. I couldnÂ’t find a pink ink in my collection that suited me, so I mixed the two lightest ones I had right on the stamp and the result was exactly what I was looking for. I inked with the darkest color first, then lightly tapped with the lighter color.
For this card, I chose a pink trapeze ribbon. I thought it added an extraspecial touch, and since alternating blocks are transparent, it didnÂ’t obscure the image underneath.
The greeting inside, a birthday wish, is from the “Garden Flowers” collection also and is done in the same blend of pink inks and also pearl embossed.
