Okay, having fun with the wood veneers. My last post was inaccurate. They aren't wood laminates, they are wood veneers. Who knew?
After promising the man at the wood shop that I would return one day to show him a card I made with the veneers, I finally held true to my promise the other day. He was quite gracious about my little hobby, nodded in pseudo appreciaton and then proceeded to sell me a wood burning tool as I was buying MORE wood veneers!
(They say sales people are the easiest targets. I guess it's true!)
None the less, I dutifully trekked home after work to make a Masculine Get Well card. Pulled all of my new treasures out and was too stinkin' tired to experiment with the wood burning tool. Instead I lit the edges of the veneers on fire with my fireplace lighter and called it a good enough effort for the night.
Am I lazy? Well, yah, maybe ... but I have a really cool wood burning tool which has yet to be used ... so I guess I won't be lazy for too long! LOL.
I stamped the image in black and then colored it in with Prismas the first time around and didn't like it. Decided to turn the piece over, restamped the image in Chestnut brown and left it alone.
Not a great photo, but please let me know what you think.
I'm calling this my $60 card after the purchases I made without using all but one of them! (But I did learn the difference between laminates and veneers ... so maybe all is not lost?!!!)
Thanks for looking!
