This is basically a CASE of Stamp&Cars lovely floating image card: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers AND I've been wanting to use Tempting Turquoise and Close to Cocoa together ever since I saw this gorgeous card by ConnorandJacob'sMom: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers I started working on this before the SU! Retirement List came out, and then I realized all the stamps I used are retiring! :( After coloring the flowers, I tried the xyron & dryer sheet with DD glitter, but the image was too fuzzy. So, I covered it with Versamark and embossed with clear EP and voila! - you could see the image again. I liked the effect, kind of like a bumpy surfaced, sparkly tile - one of those happy accidents, I guess. I will also post the inside of the card, where I used masking to create a "faux layer" using the Filigree stamp & sponging so there was still a space to sign the card. This is for my niece who will soon turn 20. She's somewhat of a Tomboy, so I had fun making a girly style card for her this time.

Absolutely gorgeous! Love the color combo and the way that the name appears to be sitting on a shelf with a picture over it! Love the lacy look on the shelf, very creative! What a shame all those stamps are now retired, look how beautiful this card looks using them! Wonderful job!

Love this card. I just got tempting turqoise and will try a card with the clost to cocoa added. The colors look great together. I haven't heard of the floating image technique. Could you please explain how this is done. Thanks so much for sharing

Thank you all for the kind words! ShirleyT - I first learned about this floating image technique through Pat Huntoon's Technique Junkies Newsletter (Feb/March, 2004). Here is a link to excellent directions on doing this (they call it Acetate Window Cards): http://www.learn2stamp.com/techniques/techniques24.shtml Hope that helps. Linda

This is my favorite ever sample using this set! Way to go! This should be in the IB&C. Maybe they wouldn't be retiring this set if they had this sample to use next year!
