Had to get my Birds Of Missouri field guide out to color my black-capped chickadee from Martha Stewart's bird set. He is stamped on Kraft with black Stazon and watercolored with Derwent wc pencils using an aquabrush. I used a small artist brush using Craft White to brush the white on his body. Matted the image on distressed green. Instead of using dp I stamped the top 3/4ths of the base with a stamp from Fresh Fillers. On the lower 1/4th I used the pine branch from Winter Foliage. Antique copper brads and green checked ribbon completes the card.

What a brilliant photo of a darling little card. I specially like the little cluster of 3 brads.
Now, that is just why I don't go for those detailed bird stamps - I can embroider them fine but don't ask me to colour them!! I'd never be able to do half this good.

Bev, this is so beautiful! Your coloring is wonderful.....pays to look it up, huh? Love the stamping on the bottom layer, and the ribbon is perfect! I think those copper brads are just the right embellishment!! Lovely!!

I just got this stamp set too, but I used the cardinal for my sketch challenge card. I, too, had to get out my bird book to get the coloring right! Tooooo funny! I love your card. Using different backgrounds for the top and bottom 'layer' was a good idea. Oh, and you colored that chickadee beautifully!
