I made this for Beate's challenge yesterday - Blogs at Splitcoaststampers. It was a lovely picture, I had several ideas for it. I finished this last night and was about to take a photo when I saw a big blood-red blotch on the ribbon and paper down the side. A bit of checking revealed that I hadn't cut myself, I'd dipped my finger into a still-wet H2O pot. So I had to re-do that part this morning.
The card base is black Bazzill. The Hero Arts image is stamped with Versafine black onto watercolour paper and coloured with H2Os. I sponged the background lightly with ColorBox Pigment Creamy Brown. I added some orangey-yellow round the edges and dark grey stripes. It's layered up onto black Bazzill with cream sponged edges. The wine layer is Bazzill with stripes painted on with H2Os. I used a ticket punch in the right-hand corners but ended up covering the top one with one of the butterflies, so only the bottom one has a pearl The frame around the panel is Mizuhiki cord, with little pearls in each corner. The side bit is more sponged watercolour paper stamped with leaves and crimped. I then layered cream organza ribbon over it and attached it with foam to the card base. I punched out 3 butterflies, and tipped the ends of their antennae and bits of the flower panel with Liquid Pearl.
It's not as Asian in feel as I wanted based on how the piece inspired me, but I don't have any Asian-style stamps (yet), and I mostly like the end result.
