This is for Michelle's (eliotstamps) challenge to use some sort of newsprint. I haven't ever read 'The Shipping News' Michelle---is it very old? Would it be at my local library do ya think?
The card front ends at the black trim---the newsprint is on the inside of the card. I hope the 'news' ghost letters show up in the pic. I tried to preserve an office supply/newspaper office mood with the card, so I used staples to attach the letters, I used different fonts for the words, and I thought the stamped 'BIG' was kinda like a clock? And of course the newsprint, and the fact that 'BIG' news would be a headliner for sure
Fun challenge to play with!

Cary, I just love your style! The clear letters with the staples - fabulous! And I love those patterned papers that look like aged newsprint. Great card, again!
As for the book, It's probably 10 years old? I'd bet it's at your library. It won a book prize a few years ago. Hope you enjoy it, if you can find it.

Shipping News is pretty current, should be in library. Great movie with Kevin Spacey as I remember. This is really a card that makes you sit up and say Wow!
