An acetate treat box for the Technique challenge today and I did want to make this as I'd like to do more of this type of project. I've ended up with the scruffiest treat box anyone could imagine!! When anyone writes that their project looks better in real life, well, in this case it looks better in the picture and it will be a treat for me not to give it as a treat!!! Chalking this one up to experience possibly and also materials I think. The box will self-destruct immediately after upload.
I wonder if a thinner kind of acetate is needed for box making? Mine is quite thick and didn't want to bend or perhaps it's that special red tape, not sure what that is, any comments appreciated. I also don't have a scoring blade on my cutter which would probably make the measuring/scoring easier. I did make my box a bit longer than the directions to accommodate my image too.
So I won't bore you any longer with the disaster that is my box. I used my Kadoodle James image again and coloured him with prismacolor pencils and oms. TFL as always.

This "disaster" as you call it looks pretty good to me. Maybe you should check out my "plain Jane" attempt before you trash yours. I am sure it will make you appreciate yours a whole lot more. LOL

Oh Chris, you are way too hard on yourself! LOL! Your treat box looks great! Love the image you used and that you thought to put an image on the front of the box! Not having a scoring tool would make it difficult with any acetate I think. Mine could have stood to be thicker, and I had to REALLY score it hard to get good corners. I'm sure that's the only problem you had, because this looks plum adorable!

Not to say that this is the case - but how refreshing when I hear someone else say they messed up, or that their project didn't turn out quite right. I do think yours turned out just fine. Most of the time I won't even attempt this type of project. I for sure give you an A for effort. Good job!!

Maybe it's the thinkness of the acetate. I didn't use the scorer on mine, I folded it, and made a hard edge with my bone folder. At any rate, thanks for your honesty, and maybe someone will have a BEST answer. I have to say it looks really cute, though!!!
