I made this card for the PWC13 Challenge from Paper Pretties....basically we were to use buttons on whatever project we presented. Here is the info for that challenge: http://www.paperpretties.net/index
For this card, the butterfly and the daisy are buttons and are attached using glue dots. The pattern paper is all from the Martha Stewart line...I just love the colors of this 'Playful Blue' line and it seemed to coordinate so well with the PTI Aqua Mist and Lemon Tart!
I punched two ovals with my giga scalloped oval punch--one in Aqua and one in Lemon Tart...put them together to fit to my main image plain oval. I've added white dots around the scalloped edge and along the top left corner, where the butterfly is 'taking flight'. I colored the buttons with Copic markers to give them added interest....and added yellow dots to the white brad at left of the sentiment.
Although it doesn't show on my picture, I used a Spica Clear Glitter pen to give a subtle 'glittery' effect to Sophi'a hair, cheeks, jewelry and also along the lines of the white circles of the pattern paper.
In order to 'show' more of the white-lined circle patterned piece, I decided to lower the main image below the lower edge of that layer. Using the 2 different cardstock colors for the scalloped oval seemed to make that idea work better...at least to my eye, it did.
