Default SBTC86 October 12, 2007 Funky Ribbon Flowers

Good Morning, I'm your guest hostess this week.

I found this article on how to make funky ribbon flowers

http://scraptreasures.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1318

I followed her directions pretty closely except I didn’t use staples as after a couple it got kind of bulky. I used small pieces of tacky tape instead.

Here's my sample

seeing the sights

The bad thing is they get kind of smooshed down in the page protectors - but they are still so much fun and look so cool.

I can see lots of possibilities and hope you will give this a try on your layout.

Don't forget to put SBTC86 in your keywords and link it back here so we can easily find your page.

hope you do too Melanie. they are really pretty simple. add as many or as few flower layers as you want. I didn't try a cut out stamped flower, but bet those would work also.

Maybe even one stamped on vellum?

I like the stamped on vellum idea. Wonder how it would work as a snowflake?

Peggy, I completely adore your flowers and page - as usual you are an amazing scrapper with such attention to detail. I know I can always go to your gallery for inspiration!

I made some of the flowers and really like how they turned out, just that little bit of 'extra' to add to some low key flowers. I am making a scrapbook for my niece's new baby girl. The pages are all blank, ready for her to add her photos as baby Kenna grows. So I didn't upload my page to the gallery. Here is a thumbnail of one of my flowers.

Again, thanks for helping me add a little more to my pages!

I used glue dots to adhere my ribbon ends to my cardstock circle base and when all the ribbons were attached I secured them with three staples that caught all of the ends. I'm excited to make more of these with some paper and stamped flowers as well.

Wonderful Mary! the layers really makes those smaller flowers stand up and be noticed;) such pretty colors. What a wonderful gift. Thanks for taking the challenge.
