Default Win $20 in MFT Products - Sketch #123 May 8 - May 14

It's week 123 of our WSC Getting Sketchy (May 8 - May 14 ). We have another fabulous sketch for you this week!

We encourage you all to play along, and to enter your card in the weekly draw for a $15 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique. Simply follow the sketch and create a card or other paper creation. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week, a keyword is assigned to the sketch. All you need to do to enter, is upload your card to the gallery at SCS, and enter the given keyword in the keyword box, during the upload process. After the deadline, we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher! That is up to $100 per month in prizes, JUST for playing along. We hope you'll join us in 2013.

Check out the FAQ - Wednesday Stamp Club thread if you need any further info on this challenge or help on how to upload your card to the gallery.

Have you missed any sketches along the way? Print out all the sketches HERE

Upload your creation to SCS using keyword MFTWSC123 for a chance to win this week's prize (see above). You have until noon Tuesday, May 14 to play along.

See all the entries for this week's WSC HERE

The winner of last week's challenge is Scrappycharms! You can see her fabulous entry HERE!

Love this sketch! I'm using the new Die-namics Happy Hellos for my card today. The sentiment on the inside is from My Favorite Sentiments. For details, please visit my blog.

Quick question...I know we are allowed to rearrange things, as long as it's clear we've used all elements of the sketch. But when I see things like the buttons and other specific shapes like hearts used as they are above, I can't help but wonder if I'm supposed to use buttons to actually have a chance to 'win'. In short, what are the hard and fast rules regarding sketches? Thank you!!! I'll have mine up in a day or so, after I quit salivating over the new MFT...I want it all. ALL.

Hi! I don't think there are any 'hard' rules. So long as you follow the sketch enough to easily see that your card matches the sketch provided! You can see that some of the DT used stars and flowers in place of buttons. For my card (below) I used feathers from the new Accent It- Feathers and Arrows in place of the buttons. You can clearly see that I still followed the sketch, but made it my own with the feather addition Hope this helps you!!

HI, Carmen. Jenny beat me to it.

I like to use the sketches as a starting point and inspiration. I try to stick to the general idea of it, but feel free to flip it, squish it, rotate it and use other elements in place of the shapes in the sketch. For example, a circle or button can easily be swapped out for a star or heart. You can see I used the new Feathers & Arrows Die-namics in place of the fishtail banner piece that the sketch shows. Have fun and let your creativity flow

Of course we would LOVE for you to use MFT stamps and Die-namics, but the rules state above:

You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week, a keyword is assigned to the sketch. All you need to do to enter, is upload your card to the gallery at SCS, and enter the given keyword in the keyword box, during the upload process. After the deadline, we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher!

Here's my 'last hurrah' card as a guest designer for the month! I've had too much fun! I used Mona's Dandelion Wishes and Graduated Dot Stencil and one of the amazing Cheerful Blessing sentiments! My attachments always turn out with crummy quality, so my blog link is below, too!

Hi Carmen,

Please jump in and join us! You can certainly change around the shapes. The sketches should be your inspiration and your starting point, but feel free to make it work with the supplies that you have.

While we love to see our stamps and Die-namics, you are free to use any stamps and dies you wish. It will in no way affect your chance of winning the weekly prize. We draw a weekly winner randomly.

Talking

Thanks to all of you!!

I appreciate the clarification. I'm six months into this hobby/obsession and these sketches are 'training' my creativity to kick in when I ask it to as opposed to when IT FEELS like working for a living. I saw that I didn't have to use MFT and, personally, I'm a Capitalist at heart so I enter the sketches of products that I support and intend to continue using. I actually wouldn't mind if it WAS a requirement...it would give me a perfect excuse to give my husband when he fusses about the actual monetary cost of this hobby. My excuse that 'how can you put a price on my spirit? I'm writing Oprah' is wearing a little thin. Sigh.

Sorry...I digressed.

What I MEANT to say is Thank You again and I'll have my entry in by this weekend!
