It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week, and I have a two-option challenge for you this week. It was inspired by reading on history.com that it was on this day in 1773, the British Parliament passed the Tea Act, granting the British East India Company a monopoly on tea sales in the American colonies. On looking up other sites, some give a different date (May 10th) but for the purposes of the challenge we'll stick to the date I first found ;-).The Tea Act was, of course the start of the path that led to the Boston Tea Party and American independence.
I offer you two options - to feature tea on your cards - images with teacups, teapots: dying lace or paper with tea (as Toni and Lisa did in their samples); some of the teabag art I've been seeing in the gallery recently AND/OR use the letter "T" which is what I went for on my sample. If you do both - I guess you've earned some cookies to enjoy with your tea. Once you upload it with the keyword WT633, come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card , and especially the hostesses who like to see your cards even if you upload later on in the week.
]If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Many thanks to Lisa and Toni for great samples, showing both tea-dyed paper and lace.
Sabrina- what a delightful challenge, thanks! I went with a browns and pinks paper pieced and dry embossed background for my die cut stamped images- and added fabric borders. Here's Sip and savor

This is a perfect challenge for me today. I have some sort of stomach bug and am actually sitting here at my craft table drinking a cup of tea. I fished the wrapper out of the trash so I could use it in my card!
Inspired by Joanne's card earlier this morning- using TE's Tea-rrific stamp set- I started my paper piecing, and was interrupted by chores- yes, that's my morning tea in the photo! Used primarily dark colors- purples and browns- with orange, white, red and green secondary shades. Here's Birthday Stack Up
