wow, this looks like a double challenge -- not only is everyone sanding -- you are also using patterned paper on your cards !! And I love them all!! How is a girl expected to make something stunning when all the great ideas are used up here already. Your cards are awesome!!
This was really fun even if it didn't work how I envisioned it.;)
Here's mine: Poppies for Mom.
Thanks Michele for the challenge and Julia for the gorgeous sample!
Okay, so not only have I never sanded, but I have never done a Ways to use it challenge... I hopefully can get one in during the boys' second nap. DH put them down before I got home and now my time is up!!!
Thanks for this great idea!!! All the cards posted so far are wonderful!
Okay here are my submissions. I did two, basically the same card, just a different image. You can't really see where I did sand, but in the description it tells you what is sanded. This was a very fun challenge!
Okay, I don't have a gallery because we are still on dial up in our area. I have used the sanding blocks for faux linen which I love. But, I have also used the sanding blocks to file my dogs nails. We have five big dogs and when I trim nails they are very sharp and jagged after. The sanding block does a very nice job of smoothing out their nails and the dogs don't complain at all. Who woulda thunk it.

Here is my card (pending approval, I really need to renew my membership). I am on a roll. I have been able to do four challenges in a row. This was a great challenge. I had fun with it and like how it turned out. TFL
Julia, prayers for you and your mom.
When my navy on navy embossing didn't show up on the photo I took of my sketch and color challenge card, I took the card apart and added a sanding block trick to a new navy layer.
Dear Julia, so happy that your sweet mommy is doing better. Such a tough time, but wonderful for you and your mom to have so much support from your family and friends. Know we are all praying for you. Your friend, Nancy
Plan to play later.....Thanks Michele
Here is my project for the challenge today. Since I have 550 coasters coming, I figured I had better use up the ones I have ;) Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
If I hadn't hit enter instead of the tab key I would have entered all of the pertinent info. Not to mention the fact that my computer does not think it necessary to use the cut and paste function any more.
Ink used was Archival Sepia.
Julia thoughts and prayers for your Mom. Michele thanks for pitchin' in.
--My good friend Laciann gave me this Bella.-- These gals are so cute, but once I uploaded my card onto my computer I notice that I can't color very well. It took me all mornin' to make this card and I'm not about to start over. Thanks for Lookin' and Thanks Laciann for the stamps. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Finally! Here is mine...ya ever have those days where you are working on your card and it is interruption after interruption?! Today was one of those days...lol.
Ok, so here's my first attempt at a chipboard coaster gift box. I have some questions about what happened in making this. The bottom didn't really fit on very well and the coasters are slightly curved. Maybe someone can provide insight for next time...
Boy did I struggle with this one. I bought a sanding block quite along time ago with every intension of using it. Thanks for making me take it out of the package. ;)
well.....I found the sanding blocks....used them, but you'd never know it by looking at my card....I did sand the embossing on both background layers....very subtle difference in person...no difference shows in the scan.....
