Keyword: LoveVSBN09
Day/Date: Saturday, February 9, 2013
Time: 7pm EST

This VSBN, we’re revisiting past challenges, so here’s one you may have missed the first time around: Digi - Journaling on a Photo. The original challenge and tips for how to are here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...a-t556113.html. This is one of my favourite Digital Scrapbooking techniques, but it can be replicated by traditional scrapbookers too using velum paper or transparency!

Here is my original sample page DGSC068 – Daddy's Hands - 6/19/12 by 3Fries - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers and I have also attached another here.

Here is a link to the original gallery for this challenge DGSC068 - Homemade Cards, Rubber Stamp Art, & Paper Crafts - Splitcoaststampers.com a little luv for everyone!

Saturday Fun!

Terri is at her son's event so she left her challenge w/ us for tonight, woohoo! :D

Very good! I'll have to see what pics I have that will give me enough room to write on them or at least ones I can make work....

smadson 02-09-2013 03:08 PM

Neat challenge! I have never done it, but I am glad for the suggestion of the vellum, since I am a traditional scrapper. Love your sample! Be back.

i am doing traditional on this one too, and I think I have vellum, I don't think I will get it put together tonight but the wheels are starting to spin, thank goodness, so it should go together fairly easily hopefully tomorrow

I'd only done this once for another challenge and I love it every time I look at the photo that I journaled on. I do like Terri's suggestion though to use vellum or a transparency and I'm going to try that

Right now I'm chopping toppings for pizza and making cookies as my kids should be arriving in an hour :o

princessp1971 02-09-2013 03:23 PM

Things I have loved about this VSBN (so far)
All the GREAT challenges
Being a hostess and see the challenges up front
Being retired so I had time all week to work on them
and chatting!

princessp1971 02-09-2013 03:26 PM

I may try another one (at another time) and use vellum. I dont have any right now..:(

Whohoo! Here is mine. I messed up a bit on the embossing, but anyway! :) Another for my heritage album.

Thank you for getting me outside my box!

GREAT Idea Patti!

Things I have loved about this VSBN:
- Recycled Challenges - many I didn't get to do the first time & I really like all of them

- VSBN - I love being inspired to get pages done, I'll have almost my monthly goal completed

- Crop - I love crops but I have to say, scrapping and chatting from your own home desk/space is a GREAT way to go

- Friends - I've been scrapping with some of you for over 4 years - I love that we're friends and get to keep seeing everyone's pages

- Time - yup, I'm w/ Patti ... no kids at home usually makes it easier to plan and stick with it.

- Hostess - Love that we had lots of Volunteers and Variety

Lmn 02-09-2013 03:50 PM

aahhh ... young love

It's actually a Valentine gift ... not for me (LOL!) My DS is bringing his GF to Ohio as there is a concert they want to go to tomorrow night. They are only staying until Monday morning but I'm looking forward to seeing them.

I just get the benefit of seeing them for a couple days so I'm good w/ that too

Sorry... I had to split earlier, I had issues here at work and I am still here. So it looks like I will miss the rest of the evening with you all. :(

ack... hate it when that happens.

I'm thinking I may have to just design page kits for the rest of the challenges tonight and work on the laptop in the living room for this one. My scrap area is dark, dark, dark, and I'm messing up papers. I'm afraid to see what I put together with the dark light in here. I do have two pages almost done (two challenges) and I can work on pse with this one and then make a plan for the balance.

I think I can chat then too :D

Not serious, just got slammed and we are still on winter staffing, so very short handed.

I love the enthusiasm ladies! And I love the traditional paper scrapbookers trying this challenge too - your results are awesome!

I'm glad I have time tonight to check in and say hello. Wheelchair basketball tournament is going well, though our team has lost both games so far. Teaching the young ones a little humility, lol. They've had a really winning season so far, this is good learning for them.

I'm so excited to be home and playing on these challenges - I agree with all the points you've made Lela about this super VSBN!

I found a photo I thought would be cute to write on... I Run

Annie's Pantry 02-10-2013 09:19 AM

This challenge took me way tooooo long! I am not one to stamp on my photos, but this turned out to be a perfect way to spruce up my old photos of Bryce Canyon.

Here's my Page...... Inspire

Here's my page for this challenge

LL's LOVEVSBN09 SHARE THE LOVE: Journaling on a Photo by muzbysmom - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

My journaling doesn't show up very well but it is on the picture in the left hand upper corner. I did not write on the picture but on a piece of acetate placed over the picture

cla616 02-11-2013 07:49 AM

I know what I want to do for this one, but when I place vellum over my picture, you can't see the picture, so I need to keep thinking how to do this. Stay tuned ....

Ok so I found some sayings printed onvellum that came with a birthday scrapping ensemble. I used the papers on another layout and was so excited to see the vellum saying sheets with it. I have already cut out my saying. And can now work out my page as soon as lunch is done

3Fries 02-13-2013 08:18 PM

Here's my own take on my challenge :)

I'm looking forward to seeing your page! I think there are various thicknesses of vellum - cardstock vellum is thicker and harder to see through. Of course since I rarely use it, I'm never really sure which I have!!
