Hi Verve friends! It's Amy, here with this week's Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge. I'm excited to be hosting, and hope you'll play along!
Details:
Every Friday, a Diva will post a sketch for your enjoyment. Your cards, using the sketches, must be uploaded by the last Thursday of the month (check for the due date below!) The winner will be announced on the next day and will win a $100 gift certificate to VERVE! How awesome is that?! Just a reminder, Verve stamps are NOT required but we love to see you use them. Feel free to flip, rotate, resize, or otherwise alter the sketch as long as we can tell you USED the sketch!
For May, we'll have FIVE sketches! All FIVE cards must be uploaded to the VLVMay2012 gallery by midnight, CST on Thursday, May 31st to be eligible to win this month's prize! Winner will be announced on June 1st! GOOD LUCK!
Keywords for the entire month will be VLVMay2012 and Verve (if using Verve stamps).

If you're new to the gallery, here's a little info on how to add your cards to our gallery:
If you haven't uploaded your cards yet, just click the Upload a Card link in the left sidebar. Keep the default category as Member Galleries. Then follow the form to browse to the photo of your card on your computer, enter a title and description then click upload/submit. On the next screen it asks you for the ingredients of the card and also has a Keyword section. In this section type the keyword for this month's challenges... VLVMay2012. When you're done filling things out, click process. It takes a few minutes to show up in our challenge gallery but as long as you've got the correct keyword, your photo will eventually appear in the VLVMay2012 Gallery
If you've already uploaded your cards, you can edit the keywords by going to the photo in your gallery. In the bottom right corner under the information below the picture, there is an Edit Photo button. Click this, then in the Edit keywords section add the VLVMay2012 keyword and then click process. These changes take about 10 minutes or so to appear, but then your card should appear in our challenge gallery.
Here's the sketch for this week:
Attached are samples from Moe, Andrea, and me. Thanks, Moe and Andrea!
Well, it was bound to happen.... After celebrating four months with no skewed panel sketches, the glorious ride has finally come to an end LOL! Back to the drawing board/mind burning/stomach churning effects of dealing with skewed panels wink, wink.
But alas....luck may still be on my side as there is no sketch posted so you may have changed your mind!!

I'm sorry, Marisa! I can't seem to make a sketch without tilting something! I know you'll ROCK the sketch, though!
Oh my. That is a hard sketch! I'll see what I can do!!!
Awwww, I didn't mean for it to be hard! I have a bowl of leftover Verve die-cuts and when it was time to make this sketch, I just pulled a few out and loosely arranged them. Of course nothing from the leftover bowl matched anything else, so I had to make new pieces for my sample. I love combining all the different dies! Anyway, I am certain you'll make something awesome! Don't let the sketch scare you off

I needed a birthday card for my brother, this sketch worked perfect. I actually didn't spend alot of time contemplating what I was going to do (which is rare for me). The samples are beautiful, you ladies are so inspiring!
I scooped up the new BG Serendipity (used here) and Shine On lines, exclusively at Joann's, at 40% off this weekend! Loving these colors.
I used the Beautiful You, Super Dad, Notebook Paper, and Chicks Rule stamp sets, and the Ribbon Banner, Rounded Rectangle, and Flutterby dies.
All that stamping, die cutting, and yummy paper goodness meant little need for much more embellishment. Simple, but happy card.

You go girl I'm behind by two now - CRAZY busy past two weeks!! Look forward to seeing your creations. Will have to save the skewed sketch for when I'm feisty LOL!

Amy, you are such an amazing stamper! I just LOVE your "stuff!" What do you use to distress the edges of your card stock?
You're so sweet! I use a Tim Holtz Tonic Paper Distresser. It runs about $5-7 in the states. It's one of those small circular tools with seven recessed blades around the circle. I haven't seen a Stampin' Up catalog in a while, but they had something nearly identical once upon a time. I usually rough it up a bit more with my fingernail for a more distressed and more irregular look. Hope this helps!
Yeah! I survived the skewedness! CASED your rectangle frame, Amy as just loved the look This is going to be hubby's birthday card - he's manly enough to handle buttons LOL!

oh dear! I'm playing catch-up because of all my gardening! Not sure if I will get all of this month's sketches completed but I did make two cards with the week 3 sketch.
