HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!! Hard to believe it's January, it just doesn't feel like it, does it? I still have my tree up (it's coming down tomorrow but not without much sadness from me, I love my tree!) I'm glad for the new year though, everything is brand new with a fresh start!
Speaking of FRESH starts, ready for a revamped Viva la Verve challenge?
This year, we're going with a theme we're calling "At home with Verve: A year long home walk-through"
What does that mean? Well, we thought it would be fun to have our sketch challenges this year accompanied by inspiration you find around your own home! I'm constantly seeing things in my house that give me a color combo or maybe even a layout idea!
Every month this year we'll walk through a different room and every week I'll bring you some inspiration pictures of different rooms. You can use these inspiration pictures in any way you want--a color combo, a texture, a style, anything your heart desires! There will also of course be a sketch, the backbone of our challenges! So using the weekly sketches, you'll create an inspired card based on one of the photos I provide. I'll also allow your own room to be your inspiration! Of course the only stipulation to this is that you must use the room we're walking-through for that month.
For January, we're going to walk through Foyers and Entryways-the first room you enter when coming into your home! My house doesn't really have one though, so I guess I'm the odd one out, lol! Gotta love base housing! The grand prize and upload requirements are the same as last year! Have all sketches uploaded to the appropriate galleries by midnight on the last Thursday of the month and I'll choose a random winner (has to have participated in each weekly sketch challenge) to receive the next months FULL STAMP RELEASE from Verve! Isn't Julee wonderful to give this awesome prize away? Love it!
For January, all sketch cards are due to be uploaded by midnight on 28 January and I'll announce the winner on 29 January! The winner will receive the next months stamp realease as well as being the Sample Diva for February!
I've attached the three inspiration pictures and the sketch, so have at it!
If you have ANY questions at all, please let me know! I had to write quite a bit of stuff so I may have missed something...
Keywords this week are Verve (if you're using Verve stamps) and VLVJan{10}01 <--make sure to enter the keyword exactly like this so your card ends up in the right gallery! Copy and paste it if that makes it easier
This is a wonderful sketch, Amber! LOVE this new challenge direction, too! LOVE home decor! Great inspiration pics and gorgeous samples! Hope to play after work!
Great idea, Amber!! I have only done one inspiration challenge in my life so this will be a great place to practice doing some more LOL! At least I don't have to have a big piece of paper next to me when I'm creating so I don't forget the twist LOL! Looking forward to playing hopefully sooner than later as I miss stamping!

What an amazing idea for the new year of VLV! I love it! And those inspiration pictures are amazing. LOVE the one with sunflowers.... Time to go stamp!
Wow this got the brain ticking over and started some frantic rummaging for a glass type circle to fit with what was buzzing round my head! No joy so resorted to some glimmer mists and shrink plastic! After all that this is my entrance way vase card
It is fun to be back doing these challenges.
I hope I interpreted the challenge correctly. I found a bit of inspiration in each of the photos. I liked the burgundy, and the lovely staircase. By the time I finished, the DP I selected - for the stair step like grids - was mostly covered!
I also selected an image much too large for the sketch - hope the adjustment is acceptable. If not I should have time to do another.
Thanks for all the inspiration and challenges. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...1239?nocache=1
It's perfect Dorothy Inspiration challenges are called inspiration challenges for just that reason! You see something and it inspires you to create something of your own There are NO wrong ways to do these challenges

Just got back from a "trek" up north!! Not as north as a lot of you but, I have become comfortable with my Charlotte weather!! Hopefully will get to play this weekend. Amber, this is a great idea!! Have only done one other inspiration challenge ... I agree with Marissa, should be an expert by the end of the year!! {definitely underline "should"}
This is my first time participating - yeah! I forgot to follow the layout sketch - boo! Oh well, I'll try harder next time. I'm not totally sure about the rules for this kind of thing so I apologize if I'm messing anything else up! Here is the link to my card (I think):
Ive tried the sketch challenge, and just uploaded the photo, but forgive me...i think i did it wrong? I don't see it in the gallery. Any tips?
Thanks!

I think that this is going to be a blast! Thanks Amber.
I chose the second staircase, although I laugh now that I go back and look at it again, it might not be turquoise but black. But I like the colors either way.
Hi All. I am new to these Verve challenges but just bought a bunch of Verve and had to play along. Here is my week one card. I used hallway 2 as my inspiration.
