Hi everyone! I am thrilled to be hosting this week's Meet the VERVE Diva challenge!
I decided to propose a challenge that we all need Let's make a card using some of the stamping goodies that need some love!! You know, take out that stamp set that has never seen INK! Bust open that pack of brads that somehow LANDED in your shopping cart and are at the bottom of your drawer! Cut into that FABULOUS designer paper that you HAD to have and are afraid to use!! Come on, I know you can do it!
Keyword: MTVD08
You can see everyone's card here: MTVD08 Gallery
My challenge card is HERE
Of course there is a PRIZE involoved!!! Upload your card using the keyword above and link it here by next Wednesday, September 3rd at midnight (9PM Pacific Time) for a chance to win $15 in Verve Bucks. I'll announce the winner on Thursday morning, the 4th! Have fun!!!
As hostess for the week, feel free to ask any questions you want! I will be checking in frequently. So like Amy said a couple weeks ago, grab a cup of coffee and let's chat!
Great challenge, Michelle! I'm embarrassed to admit I still had uninked Verve Stamps! My card uses the Isaiah 61:3 Plain Jane, plus other unloved odds and ends from my studio. Here's my card...

I am pleased as punch to be able to live so close to Michelle and get to stamp and hang w/ her once in a while!! Can't wait for our next stampin' date!!
If I can find the top of my stamping desk, I'll do this challenge!! I have some images I have had for a long time, maybe its a good time to use them and not have to even get out ink!!

Hi Michelle, great challenge! I still haven't had time to get all my new Verve stamps inky, so will set aside an hour or two soon!
Do you have a fav Verve set? What's the one colour you just can't seem to stop using?
Looking forward to reading all about ya!
Hi Sarah! Can't wait to see your card
My favorite Verve set? Hummm... how about in 2 categories? Favorite sentiment set is Happy Thoughts! The fonts are amazing and the set is soooo versitile. I love how there are 2 'happy' words each with a different feel.
Favorite image set is Floral Whimsy!! Oh man, I just got this set and already am in love. I love the 2 different sizes of the flowers -perfect for either horizonal or vertical layouts!!
Favorite color? I (gasp!) don't really have a favorite color I use alot. I almost always pick my DP for the card first and base the colors to match. But, I do love Rose Red, Cool Caribbean, Chocolate Chip and Celery!!
Michelle, what is your must have tool, must have color, must have embellishment????
Favorite tool... I would have to say my paper piercer. Not only do I pierce corners alot, but I use it to make holes for my brads! Must have embellishment - EASY - RIBBON!!! I love all things ribbon. It's on all my cards! Of course, it helps that I live super close to Heidi (Pinkhedgehog Papercrafts)! She sells just about every ribbon under the sun and I don't pay shipping
So happy you are now a Verve Diva, Michelle, as I have always enjoyed seeing your work on SCS and fav'ing quite a few of your creations too
A few questions:
1. How did you become a 9er fan? Assume you are based on your SC name.
2. How do you manage to get stamping time with little ones AND
homeschooling and now DT work?!
3. What made you decide to home school?
4. What interests do you have other than stamping?

Hi there! Great questions! I was born a 49er fan All my family is born and raised in San Francisco and are hugs 9er fans. I was born and raised in Oregon, but lived in the Bay Area for 10 years even graduated from SF State University. My DH is 3rd generation born and raised San Franciscan. We are a family of 49er fans!!
Stamping time is super tricky! I find I get bits and pieces of a card done at a time -I rarely have time to sit and complete a card in one sitting. My boys are 3 and 4, so being interrupted is a part of my life. Actually, I don't homeschool. When my boys are old enough to go to school I will send them on their way!! More stamping time for me Until then, my mom takes the boys for a week each month to give me some 'me time'. It started out when my 2nd was born, she took Daniel so I could have some alone bonding time with Ryan. And we have kept it up cause the boys love it so! Now, I try to coordinate that week to be before my DT deadlines!!
Honestly, I don't have many other interests other than stamping! How sad is that?! I watch alot of TV, does that count??
Hello... I am unsure how I'm supposed to post a link here for the challenge. This has been fun to do. It's my first time here posting anything and says I need to make 3 posts, plus I do not see other links posted here. I am sorry for the confusion. Could someone point me in the right direction please? I did put the keyword up though. Thank you!!!

Welcome Angelique!! I can't wait to see your card!
Yes, to help with spam, SCS requires a certain amount of posts before having the ability to post a picture. So, if you are feeling chatty, you can make a few more posts here or in the General Stamping Talk.
Once you have enoung posts to upload a picture, you can upload it into your gallery. Once there, you can copy the URL and paste it here in this thread for all of us to see!
Thank you Michelle! Never seen mud so squeaky clean before.
Guess everyone will get to see my name a few times as I add the numbers up, lol.
Hi Angelique! Welcome to our forum! A great way to get your post numbers up quickly is to comment on cards in the gallery. I think the magic number is somewhere between 15 and 20 posts now before you can post links in threads.

So do you START w/ a certain ribbon in mind and build around it......or do you start w/ an image/sketch and hope you have some ribbon to match when you are done??
sShhh......nobody tell Michelle......**looking side to side, in my whisper voice**.....I don't have a paper piercer.....I use an old sewing needle and eyeball it!!! ahahahaahah

Actually, I start a stamp set and the DP and build around that. It's not uncommon for me to have 6 or 7 ribbon scraps laying on my paper trying to see what looks the best with the card!
A NEEDLE! GASP! Shirley, I seriously would have major holes in my fingers if I used a needle!! I stab my fingers enough with a paper piercer, if I had a needle my fingertips would be in tiny casts by now
Had lots of fun with this one Michelle! Inked up Fairy Tales for the first time, and used some of my hoarded Basic Grey, Rhinestones and Choc Chip narrow grosgrain! Here's my card:

Another question Because you said you watch lots of TV, I'd love to know what your fav show is?
AWESOME card Sarah!! Love the cupcake slightly to the left...
Anyway, my favorite TV show? Oh, I am embarrassed to say I have tons! The scary secret I hide is that I watch EVERYTHING on TV. Seriously, EVERYTHING! I have DVR and it was the single most amazing invention ever. So, here are a couple of my faves (in no particular order, wouldn't want to hurt their feelings): Desparate Housewives, The Shield, Lost, Survivor, Burn Notice, House, NCIS, Gossip Girl, The Closer, all the CSI's... I could go on!
Hi Michelle! Great challenge! You should issue this weekly, although it would be the next decade before I touched all the unloved, uninked and unopened treasures in my stash! But is was so fun and extremely satisfying to use a few of them on my card: Infinite Stars
I have a few questions for you:
1) Which card in your gallery is your absolute favorite and why?
2) What is your dream vacation destination?
3) Where in your home do you stamp?
Thank you Julee! Am off to wander around the gallery and do that today. There's so many beautiful creations on here it seems like a person could spend days and days just admiring everyone. I am glad I found this place.
I don't have any stamp set that is un-inked. But there is a quote from Verve Beautiful YOu set that I haven't use yet along with the flower. I hope that counts!

Hi Laura!! Great fun card!!
1) This is a toughie! I have a favorite wedding card here: (warning, this is in the FC gallery, you must have a membership to view it I love it because it is a simple elegant card!
2) Anywhere where it's HOT and has tropical drinks with umbrellas in them!! I have been to Mexico 6 times and I would love to go back
3) I stamp in a converted corner of my family room. I have a great view of the TV (see above ) and my boys play area. I attached a pic of my stamping space. It's a bit crowded and messy, but I know where everything is Oh, and P.S. the pic doesn't show it, but I have shelves all the way to the ceiling holding supplies!!

Hi Suz! Waving back! My stamping idol is Sharon Johnson (notimetostamp). What an amazing stamper and an amazing person! Hugs to you Sharon!!
HERE is my card.
I thought I was in line with Charmaine's challenge, too, but I switched from white to Kraft and that all went out the door. Charmaine...I had good intentions!!

Awesome card Jen!! Isn't it fun to dig out all the forgotten embellishments and stuff???

Does your mom want to come to White Rock, BC for a week!! It's absolutely beautiful up here, weather is very similar to yours, beach is about 10 minutes away, as is the US border in case she gets homesick and wants to pop into WA state for a few hours...plus my DH is a wonderful cook that could leave her fridge full of amazing food.... Sure my mom would come and visit/help her out LOL!! WOW, do you have an amazing mom!! There is nothing better than getting some alone time when kids are that age - or any age for that matter!
Sorry about the error re: homeschooling. I think I read it on another thread or maybe misread it! Yes, those school hours are wonderful, but it is amazing how quickly they get filled up!!
I have been very blessed and I have gotten a lot of new things......the new SU In colors and inks, new SU pocket silhoutte stamp set, and lots of the new SU dp, they have some super dp this cattie.

Thanks for playing Teresa!! Love the colors on that card. I can't wait to see the new catty
What a great challenge! I finally broke open a package of little bells that I had purchased awhile ago and my metal tags have sat idle for a bit. So here is my card, it also uses Beate's weekend sketch challenge:
Hi .... haven't been onto this forum before, but I noticed a link from a fellow blogger's site - and I made a card using some "unloved stash" yesterday ...it's on my blog at passionforpapercraft.blogspot.com (sorry can't insert link as I am new to posting - you have to post 3 before it lets you!)
Cheers
