Greetings everyone!! It's Maureen (Irishlatte) and I hope you like what I've cooked up for you this week . I have been on a doily/tag kick lately so wanted to combine them in my sketch this week...however, use whatever shapes/materials you like...it's all good!!
Details:
Every Friday, a Diva will post a sketch for your enjoyment. Your cards, using the sketches, must be uploaded by the last Thursday of the month (check for the due date below!) The winner will be announced on the next day and will win the ENTIRE next Verve stamp release! How awesome is that?! Just a reminder, Verve stamps are NOT required but we love to see you use them. Feel free to flip, rotate, resize, or otherwise alter the sketch as long as we can tell you USED the sketch!
For May, we'll have FIVE sketches! All five cards must be uploaded to the VLVMay2011 gallery by midnight, CST on Thursday, June 2nd to be eligible to win this month's prize! Winner will be announced on June 3rd! GOOD LUCK!
Keywords for the entire month will be VLVMay2011 and Verve (if using Verve stamps).
Some info:
If you're new to the gallery, here's a little info on how to add your cards to our gallery:
If you haven't uploaded your cards yet, just click the Upload a Card link in the left sidebar. Keep the default category as Member Galleries. Then follow the form to browse to the photo of your card on your computer, enter a title and description then click upload/submit. On the next screen it asks you for the ingredients of the card and also has a Keyword section. In this section type the keyword for this month's challenges... VLVMay2011. When you're done filling things out, click process. It takes a few minutes to show up in our challenge gallery but as long as you've got the correct keyword, your photo will eventually appear in the VLVMay2011 Gallery. If you've already uploaded your cards, you can edit the keywords by going to the photo in your gallery. In the bottom right corner under the information below the picture, there is an Edit Photo button. Click this, then in the Edit keywords section add the VLVMay2011 keyword and then click process. These changes take about 10 minutes or so to appear, but then your card should appear in our challenge gallery.
Just peeking in to see if the sketch was posted yet I'm liking what I see. This makes me want to run upstairs and pull out supplies, but I should head for bed and play tomorrow!

Cool sketch Maureen - but you know how 'tilt challenged' I am ! LOL! Thank goodness I have a few weeks to see what I can come up with... Happy Friday!
no way!! You're not...and really, it's a tag, and they should be tilted, like it's dangling! LOL I'm not worried about Marisa because she has TWO tilted panels on her blog today!! LO You can do it!!

Great samples Divas and as I mentioned on your blog, Moe, I'm liking this sketch. Will see if that comes to fruition when I actually sit down to make the card LOL!

I knew you would, Marisa! Really, it's not tilted, just dangling
Great sketch, Maureen, and I took the liberty to use a different shape - a wonky shape! I just love the name of those Nesties! It's rare for me not to use any Verve for this challenge, but just had to honor my fellow nurses on the first day for week of the nurse. HAPPY NURSE'S DAY!

Okay, I'm starting to feel it ... incredible Diva creations and so many beautiful entries already ... I think I can feel the inspiration bubbling up. This is a really interesting sketch to me but after seeing all these lovely cards I think I may be able to swing something! I'm still so stuck on the pleating from last week! Where do you ladies find your time?

you totaly can do it, Michele! The big circle can be just that, a big circle or scalloped circle or even a rectangle! It's ALL good! You asked about time? My baby is in university!! LOL And I work a M-F job with mostly regular hours. (and it's hockey season up here in Canada, so the dh is glued to the tube at night! LOL)
Oooh! Looks like fun, Maureen! Off to to get crafty (and really wishing I had that big doily die, lol. Let's see what I can do with those other three small ones.....).

thatta girl!! thinking outside of the box! The doily I used this time, though, is just a paper one from Ellen Hutson, but I have tons of the Wilton ones from the Michaels cake section! LOL Can't wait to see the magic you make with those 3 little ones...sounds VERY creative! Enjoy!!

I'm in BC too ~ I just finished making my boys two huge stones of nachos to help them cheer on the Canucks! Now they're wanting me to make cake ... maybe tomorrow I'll play the Mother's Day card and get some scrappy happy time! Where in BC are you? Thank you for cheering me on! I'm so stuck on the pleating, I thought I might even use one of those as the circle for this card sketch!

oh, that's a great idea!! I'm in Kamloops...and just checked the score we are one down! Nachos sound great and stamping tomorrow does too...that's what I hope to do Go Canucks!!
Excellent sketch, Maureen. I always change them up a bit, or at least use different embellishments or shapes....but I think I stayed right on task with this one. I did use the rounded butterfly from the recent Chicks Rule set (and die) rather than the more elegant Blue Skies one, but.... LOL.

Shame on me! I'm not cheering the Canucks on, I'm cheering for myself and stamping time! (I have 4 boys so they do enough cheering for our home)
Happy Mother's Day to YOU! Happy Mother's Day to Everyone today!

I'd cheer for that too!! I'm a studio hockey fan, I just listen for my husband to either cheer or curse, then I know what's going on!! LOL I'll watch the final game...that's the one that counts!! LOL 4 boys!! Wow!! I should introduce you to my blog buddy, Lynn...she has the same! Never a dull moment, I'm sure Happy Mother's Day to YOU, and yes, to all Mother's
Nicole, this is fabulous!! I love the doodling on the tag and the pearl trail!! I also love to see how everyone interprets the sketch...that's the fun thing about creativity Thanks so much for playing
Joy at all the Verve goodies - If Julee had been a fly on the wall on Friday night she would have had a smile on her face! My niece was going through all my Verve stamps going wow and lovely, etc. etc. She also commented on this sketch so I used it with the sentiment she chose for her singing teacher's card. I wish I had left a white edge to the doily but it does use the Color Throwdown colours. After all that ramble on the stamps and the sketch here is my card
I made two for this challenge ... and I feel like I'm saying this every time ... but I just feel like I didn't give the sketch proper justice; I'm never very happy with the results ... I always feel like I have a super good idea and then after many days and many interruptions; it's never very close to what I pictured in my head. I had a pleating idea in my head ... still stuck on that from last week. Anyway, here's card one
and here's card two.
Thank you for looking. And have a positively delightful day!
