Greetings Verve friends! Maureen here with the fourth July sketch! I've taken another one of my favourites
and can't wait to see what you do with it! Woohoo! But first...
***************************
~ The Details~
Every Friday, a Diva will post a sketch for your enjoyment. Your cards, using the sketches, must be uploaded by the last Thursday of the month (check for the due date below!) The winner will be announced on the next day and will win a $100 gift certificate to VERVE! How awesome is that?! Just a reminder, Verve stamps are NOT required but we love to see you use them. Feel free to flip, rotate, resize, or otherwise alter the sketch as long as we can tell you USED the sketch!
For July, we'll have FIVE sketches! All FIVE cards must be uploaded to the VLVJul2012 gallery by midnight, CST on Thursday, August 2nd to be eligible to win this month's prize! Winner will be announced on August 3rd! GOOD LUCK!
Keywords for the entire month will be VLVJul2012 and Verve (if using Verve stamps).
If you're new to the gallery, here's a little info on how to add your cards to our gallery:
If you haven't uploaded your cards yet, just click the Upload a Card link in the left sidebar. Keep the default category as Member Galleries. Then follow the form to browse to the photo of your card on your computer, enter a title and description then click upload/submit. On the next screen it asks you for the ingredients of the card and also has a Keyword section. In this section type the keyword for this month's challenges... VLVJul2012. When you're done filling things out, click process. It takes a few minutes to show up in our challenge gallery but as long as you've got the correct keyword, your photo will eventually appear in the VLVJul2012 Gallery
If you've already uploaded your cards, you can edit the keywords by going to the photo in your gallery. In the bottom right corner under the information below the picture, there is an Edit Photo button. Click this, then in the Edit keywords section add the VLVJul2012 keyword and then click process. These changes take about 10 minutes or so to appear, but then your card should appear in our challenge gallery.
So are you ready to play? Check out these samples from my fabulous Diva Sistahs, Teresa and Andrea...and one more from me
thanks, Andrea! Your flower treatment is stunning and all that bling is making me drool! I think the gallery is going to be bursting with amazing cards this month!
This was a very challenging sketch for me, Moe! After looking at all the beautiful Diva cards I had to keep telling myself, "You can do this, you can do this!" I have a pile of 'misfit' embellishments that I ended up not using, like lots of embossed flowers that I stamped and cut from another Verve set (hopefully I will find a use for them on another card). But anyway, here is my totally Verve card for Week 4's sketch. I used the Many Blessings set to make the flowers. Hope you like it.

aw, thanks for hanging in there, Anne! I LOVE all the flowers. I know what it's like when you are faced with a sketch that doesn't feel right. This sketch is based on a card I did last year so I worked backwards for it. Your card is adorable!

I started the Divine Design Bible Verse challenge earlier this month and decided to give Moe's sketch for week 4 another try using a verse that really means a lot to me. I would like to print the remainder of the verse on the inside of the card if I can find a font that matches.
I must say, I have been getting a lot of use out of my Verve Plain Janes. For some odd reason I also seem to be using a lot of scallops and polka-dots on my cards lately. I hope I didn't go too overboard with them on this card!
When I go to the thread that posts all of our cards ... I cannot see all of mine. I only see two of the four cards I have done. How does this happen? And how do I know if my cards are uploaded right and have been counted? Thanks Jan (Precious Kitty)

Grab your shades before checking out my card...it's a bright one! LOL.
Hoping to make a coworker's day a little brighter and let her know her great attitude and helpfulness really helps make an otherwise stressful day a little nicer.
You Rock! (and you rock, too, Moe!! --thanks for the sketch)

I'm not sure, but it might be that you typed the keyword incorrectly for two of your cards. I looked at the July cards in your gallery and saw that for two of them the keyword is incorrect. Maybe if you edit the keyword for those two cards it will fix the problem. The keyword is supposed to be VLVJul2012.
For this one you have VLVJul12 - should be VLVJul2012

I checked the cards in your gallery. The keyword VLVJul2012 (exactly) is what triggers the card to show up in the right place in the gallery. Your Holy Night card has VLVJuly2012, and your Angel Wings one has VLVJul12. If you click to edit each card and adjust your keyword, they should show up fine.
Jinx, Jellybeans! LOL. I was typing while you responded.
Jellybean was my little sister's nickname (Janell).

I had to laugh that you are using the sketch again! LOL And when you mentioned loving the Plain Janes, I couldn't help think of a special gift I made for my dear friend, Janelle, who passed away in May. Check out my post here last summer.

I came across her blog last fall and spent all night reading her posts. What a wonderful person she was.

It's been an absolute age since I've been able to partake in the VLV sketches and I've missed it! I am determined to get all five sketches complete this month, even if I am uploading them in the 'wrong' order! Forgive me
Here's my offering for this week, Verve stamps always make me feel like making something bright and happy - love it!
